Veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma rolled back the clock to his vintage days as he produced a stunning spell of bowling against the Kolkata Knight Riders at his home venue, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday evening.

Back in the Indian Premier League after a gap of two years, Ishant did not waste much time in getting into the thick of things as he knocked over KKR skipper Nitish Rana cheaply.

Ishant delivered three overs in the powerplay, in which he conceded just 14 runs against the likes of Jason Roy and Litton Das.

The former Indian international then returned to dismiss Sunil Narine in his second spell to round off a memorable day with figures of 2/19 in 4 overs.

Ishant's tight bowling, and brilliant spells from Anrich Nortje (2/20 in 4) and Axar Patel (2/13 in 3 overs) meant that the Knight Riders could never really get going in their innings as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

All-rounder Andre Russell stroked a few lusty blows- three sixes off Mukesh Kumar in the final over- in the end to ensure that his side went above the 125-run mark, eventually getting dismissed for 127 in 20.
