With rain delaying the start of the clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the good news came in after waiting for almost 45 mins when the toss took place at 8:15 PM where Delhi's skipper David Warner announced a few changes to his side that has been struggling in the tournament so far.

Warner-led side announced England's opening big-hitter Phil Salt will make his debut in the IPL when he takes the field at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Salt was bought by the Delhi-based side during the IPL auction that was held in December last year where he was picked for his base price of ₹2 Crore.

The right-handed batter who is also a handy wicket-keeper has represented England in 14 one-day internationals and 16 T20I games.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old also represents Delhi's sister franchise Pretoria Capitals in the SA20 League where he managed 238 runs in 10 innings.

Delhi won the toss  and opted to field first in hope to attain their first victory of the season as they made three changes to their line-up with Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar along with Salt coming in place of Abhishek Porel, Mustafizur Rahman and Yash Dhull.
