Former South African and current RCB skipper Faf du Plessis is all set to release his autobiography "Faf Through Fire" next month.

Faf du Plessis, via his book, intends to take his fans to a journey of self-realization, "tracing his growth from a young man with a questionable moral compass outside of cricket to a respected and admired leader known for his integrity, values, and empathy for his teammates".

Du Plessis will be launching his book in India next month, and he is extremely excited to do so in a country which has given him so much love, support and memorable moments over the years.

In his statement, Faf said that he has always felt at home in India and is blessed to receive huge support in India over the years and he hopes that readers will enjoy his book.

"I am very excited about my book, 'Faf Through Fire', being launched in India. I have always felt at     home here and I have been extremely blessed to receive immense support while playing in India over the years. I hope that the readers enjoy reading it as much as I loved sharing it."

Du Plessis burst on the international scene in the winter of 2011, and over the course of the next decade, he went on to establish himself as an all-format cricketer and a respected leader.

He retired from Test cricket in February 2021, in a bid to prolong his T20 career, with his eyes being on representing the Proteas in the T20 World Cup, which was held in the UAE later that year.

However, his dream never materialized into reality as his relationship with head coach Mark Boucher, and CSA deteriorated to the hilt.

In the book, Du Plessis has touched upon his initial years being under the shadow of AB de Villiers, SA's World Cup heartaches in 2015 and 2019, and the final phase of his career where he felt alienated by the power brokers in the CSA.

Faf du Plessis has been one of the most successful overseas batters in the history of the IPL and is one of the most celebrated players from South Africa in recent years.
