Royal Challengers Bangalore's batter Virat Kohli is known to be an aggressive figure on the field. However, after the recently concluded IPL 2023 fixture between Bangalore and Chennai, the prolific batter was fined 10% of his match fees for showing for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.

Kohli was seen animated after RCB seamer Mohammed Siraj scalped Chennai Super Kings' opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad's wicket's in the 3rd over of the first innings. Meanwhile, he was hyperactive after Wayne Parnell removed Shivam Dube at 52.

One of those two celebrations off the former RCB skipper could be why he got the penalty. However, the cause for the fine has yet to be discovered wholly.

IPL released a press release to notify the sanctions put on the 34-year-old batter.

Here's what the release said:

"Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru," the release stated.

"Mr. Kohli admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct," it added. "For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding."

After being put into bat, Chennai batters staged a gigantic total of 226 runs on the board, thanks to the fifties from Devon Conway and Dube.

Responding to a humongous total, RCB lost Kohli in the first over itself; however, the third wicket stand between Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell kept CSK at bay throughout the chase, but the four-time champions somehow pulled off the heist on Wednesday.
