Yuzvendra Chahal continues his dream IPL 2023 run and has crossed Mark Wood to become the new Purple Cap holder for the most wickets in the ongoing tournament.

Interestingly, both Wood and Chahal have the same number of wickets (11), but the leg-spinner has a better economy of 7.85, as compared to Wood (8.12).

Chahal had an off-day against Gujarat Titans, picking up a solitary wicket in the form of Hardik Pandya, but also conceding 36 runs. He was eventually subbed off and Devdutt Padikkal came in as an impact player.

Talking about Wood, he started the tournament with a 5-wicket haul, and has been the main bowler for Lucknow Super Giants. The Englishman has 11 wickets in just 4 matches, with the best of 5 for 14.

There's a three-way race going on, with Gujarat Titans' Rashid Khan with 11 wickets in his bag. Despite picking up truckloads of wickets, Rashid's economy has been on the higher side, conceding runs at 8.30 runs per over.

The fourth and the fifth spot are occupied by Mohammad Shami (10 wickets) and Ravi Bishnoi (8 wickets).

With the matches coming thick and fast, it'll be interesting to see who wins the Purple Cap at the end of the tournament.
