Sikandar Raza has become the first-ever Zimbabwean cricketer to slam a half-century in the Indian Premier League. Not just that, the batting all-rounder - on the back of his maiden fifty in the tournament - has put Punjab Kings ahead of Lucknow in a tricky chase on a sluggish track.

Initially in his innings, Raza struggled to get the ball hit off the meat of the blade. However, he broke his shackles in a Krunal Pandya over, where he smashed the left-arm spinner for two maximums and a biggie on successive deliveries.

Raza came to the middle after Punjab lost three quick wickets in the chase, two of which were bagged by Yudhvir Singh in the first two overs of his debut match.

The maestro all-rounder first cemented a vital but watchful partnership with Harpreet Bhatia, but as soon as the Chattisgarh captain went packing, Raza went berserk against the tweakers.

The Zimbabwean smacked his fifty off 34 deliveries and came at a crucial juncture of the game as it has got in the balance after Jitesh Sharma's wicket.

At the time of writing, PBKS are at 122-6 in the 16 over, with 38 runs needed off 25 balls.
