Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)'s captain Nitish Rana has taken the responsibility of the chase on his firm shoulders. After losing 3 wickets in a gigantic chase, Rana coupled with Narayan Jagadeesan against Sunrisers Hyderabad and frenzied Umran Malik in his first over, smashing him for 28 runs, which included four boundaries and two maximums.

Rana, who gets awkward against express pace, went opposite to his usual self and took speed to his advantage.

Rana, who gets awkward against express pace, went opposite to his usual self and took speed to his advantage. Another unusual thing in that over was that Umran kept digging the ball short into the track, and Rana had just one mantra to tackle him, and it was taking him on.

The KKR skipper thrashed four of his hits in the leg side via his classy pull shots, and two were hit in the cover region as he used his extensive arms to play the ball in the offside.

Earlier in the match, Harry Brook and skipper Aiden Markram became showstoppers for the Sunrisers, helping them put a gigantic total on the board.

Kolkata lost three wickets in the chase, but a brief partnership between Rana and Jagadeesan laid the foundation for the home team. Unfortunately, the latter has been sent back to the hut only to bring Andre Russell into the middle.

At the time of writing, KKR are 96-4 after 10 overs, with Rana at 42* and Russell at 3* at the crease.
