Shikhar Dhawan has been in such imperious form that when he has a low-score, it looks like a big failure. In the ongoing match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Gujarat Titans (GT), Dhawan failed to stamp his authority and departed without much trouble on the scorecard.

Put into bat, GT got an early inroad when Mohammad Shami got the big wicket of Prabhsimran Singh, who departed for a 2-ball duck. On a pitch that suited for the batters, Punjab Kings had a sedate start and Dhawan didn't quite turn up as Matthew Short had to take the onus to attack the opposition.

Short struck a couple of glorious boundaries, and was the chief aggressor in the partnership. Seeing his partner get a move on, Dhawan decided to break the shackles. He stepped down and in an attempt to flick the ball on the leg side, he got a top-edge. The fielder at mid wicket ran back and took a really sharp catch.

Having already scored two half-centuries and in contention for the Orange Cap, this knock from Dhawan can be considered a rare failure from the southpaw.

At the time of writing, PBKS are 35 for 2.
