The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has been tough for the Delhi Capitals, having lost all three of their matches so far. A striking flaw in Delhi's side has been their batting, which has failed to make an impact, despite having some of the best power hitters.

Ahead of their second home game of the season against Mumbai Indians today, assistant coach Pravin Amre has revealed that the franchise is working on improving their powerplay batting.

Across three matches, Delhi have lost as many as seven wickets within the first powerplay, forcing their power hitters to curb their aggressive approach down the order.

As quoted by Cricket.com, the former Indian wicketkeeper said that the think tank is working on getting the perfect powerplay moving forward.

Here's what Amre said

We have to work on our powerplay game with the bat. When your top four batters get runs, your team is in a different position. We will see who will get those runs for our team.

We are looking to see how we can get that balance in the powerplay - where the aggression and caution are also maintained. 50 for 1 is also a good score, and how we can achieve that is what's going to matter in the coming matches, and that's something our think tank can work on."

Amre further said that the management has backed the David Warner-led side to come good going ahead, and has backed its players to do well.
