The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) thanks to heroics from Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran and a bit of luck, chased down a mammoth target of 213 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last evening in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 encounter at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

LSG had a poor start to their innings, losing Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda, and Krunal Pandya cheaply before Stoinis and Pooran ran riot. Skipper KL Rahul played a bizarre knock of 18 off 20.

Former Indian bowler Dodda Ganesh, known for his outspoken views, slammed the Indian opener for his knock, calling it, unlike Rahul.

Here's what Ganesh tweeted

"This innings from KL Rahul has to be the most hideous innings played in the history of IPL ever considering the context of the game. Man. What's in his mind? Seriously. This can't happen for so long at this level. It's not school cricket."

Rahul's batting over the past year or so has come under fire, as he has been unable to score big despite getting starts.

Former Indian bowler Venkatesh Prasad also questioned Rahul's place in the national side after a string of low scores, which witnessed a war of words between him and former India opener Aakash Chopra on Twitter.

So far in IPL 2023, the LSG skipper has hit 81 runs from four matches. Current table toppers LSG will face Punjab Kings on Saturday in Lucknow.
