In an electrifying battle, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured a scintillating one wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Match 15 of the ongoing IPL 2023 . The riveting encounter transpired at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which witnessed LSG's spellbinding triumph that elevated them to the top of the points table with three wins in four matches.

Following early jitters, LSG's all-rounder, Marcus Stoinis, resolutely steadied the chase and paved the way for their triumph. In the aftermath of the breathtaking win, the Aussie all-rounder expressed his thoughts, stating that the pitch was excellent.

"It was a beautiful pitch. I knew I had to be attacking but I also knew it was a pretty important stage of the game as well," said Stoinis.

The all-rounder also reflected on his contribution to the team's success, stressing the significance of securing a victory away from home, especially for a young franchise like LSG.

"It was nice to contribute to the team. We are a young franchise. We hadn't won a game away from home this season yet, it's important. We're all getting on really well. That's important to get some momentum early," added the Australian.

Stoinis affirmed that LSG believed they could achieve the target. He also acknowledged that history suggested a target of 200 was relatively standard.

Earlier in the day, RCB's openers, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, wreaked havoc on LSG's bowlers, forging an impressive 96-run opening partnership at a frenzied pace. After Kohli departed for a well-made 61 off 44 balls, the RCB skipper and Glenn Maxwell formed a formidable alliance, accumulating an astounding 115 run partnership to propel RCB to a colossal total of 212/2.

In response, LSG encountered an arduous start, struggling at 37/3 after the powerplay. Nevertheless, Stoinis's blistering 65 off 30 balls and Nicholas Pooran's sensational 62 off 19 balls resurrected LSG's hopes of a victory.

Ultimately, the match boiled down to a nerve-wracking finale, where LSG barely scraped through with a last-ball bye courtesy of a Dinesh Karthik error.
