On April 11th, the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will face off at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for the 16th match of IPL 2023. Both teams have yet to win a game in the tournament this year, with the Delhi Capitals losing all three of their matches so far and the Mumbai Indians coming off two consecutive losses.

Openers

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan

It is expected that Mumbai Indians will stick with their established opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan for their upcoming match against Delhi Capitals. However, neither player performed well in the first two game of the season and their recent performances have not been impressive, it is crucial for them to score runs in the upcoming match in order to set a tough score for the hosts.

Middle-Order

Cameron Green

The star player for Mumbai Indians this season is the Australian all-rounder, has been everything but useful for the team. Known for his strong hitting abilities, he should be focusing to meet the high expectations of his franchise and their supporters. In the last two matches his luck with the bat has been terrible scoring only 5 runs off 4 balls against RCB and 12 runs off 11 balls against CSK. While he was expected to play a significant role for MI throughout the season, he hasn't quite made the mark yet with the ball too.

Suryakumar Yadav

Known for his aggressive batting style and excellent fielding skills, Suryakumar Yadav better known as SKY, has suffered a dip in his form recently and unfortunately met with dust.

He has been a consistent run-scorer for Mumbai Indians over the years and has all the talent to change the game with his brilliant skills but something is just not working right for him. He is the spontaneous run-scorer for the team, but his recent stats have been disappointing with him scoring only 15 runs off 16 balls against RCB and then walking off with just a single run against CSK.

Tilak Varma

Tilak Varma's performance has been a consistent one. He delivered impressive performances for Mumbai Indians throughout the 2022 season, proving his ability to perform well under pressure. His sensational 84 off 46 balls against RCB gained him alot of respect although he failed replicate his innings against CSK. The southpaw crashed with only 22 runs against Dhoni's CSK.

Tim David

Tim David, who is known for his big-hitting skills, is expected to bat at the number six position in the team. In the previous match against CSK, he scored 31 runs and seemed to be settling in, but unfortunately lost his wicket. It is important for him to maintain consistency and perform well in the upcoming matches for Mumbai Indians as he is MI's most reliable finisher. The team will be looking for David to step up and deliver in critical moments of the game.

Nehal Wadhera

The youngster showed his class in MI's opening match against RCB. He came in at a tough situation and stitched a crucial partnership alongside Tilak Varma. An impressive showing so far, he'll be backed once again by Mumbai Indians.

Bowlers

Hrithik Shokeen

Shokeen has the potential to be one of the two spinners in Mumbai Indians' playing lineup. In addition to his bowling skills, he can also contribute with the bat by batting at number nine, which would strengthen the team's batting lineup. Despite playing in both games, he has not been utilized effectively by his captain.

Piyush Chawla

Chalwa, an experienced cricketer who has previously played for PBKS, KKR, and CSK, will likely serve as Mumbai Indians' second spin option. Although he has played in both matches of the current season, he has not taken many wickets. It is possible that the turning track in Delhi, where the upcoming match will be played, could work to his advantage.

Jofra Archer/Riley Meredith

Archer was rested in the previous game as a precautionary measure but should come back in the game against Delhi Capitals. In case he is not fit to play, Meredith can come in as his like-for-like replacement almost and bowl with pace.

Arshad Khan / Sandeep Warrier

Mumbai's attempt to use Arshad Khan as an all-rounder has not yielded the expected results. Therefore, they might consider replacing him with Warrier, who was signed to the team as a replacement for Bumrah. Warrier is a bowler who can maintain a consistent line and length and has good pace, which could be beneficial for the team.

Impact Player Probables: Ramandeep Singh, Vishnu Vinod, Shams Mulani, Sandeep Warrier, Arjun Tendulkar.
