'Captain and Coaches Want Me to Perform But...' Avesh Khan Speaks Ahead of RCB Clash

Heading into an all-important clash, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)'s key pacer Avesh Khan has spoken about his performances for the franchise in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. Thus far in the tournament, Avesh played two matches against Delhi and Chennai, scalping three wickets, but he had to miss LSG's last fixture against Hyderabad due to seasonal flu.

After being part of the Impact Player substitutes, the hit-the-deck kind of seamer is expected to be included in the Playing XI for the clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday.

While talking to the host broadcaster, Avesh stated that he is feeling absolutely fit for the RCB game, and is willing to give everything if he gets an opportunity at Bengaluru.

"When I bowled in nets yesterday, it was a hard wicket with true nature. I will try to bowl with my full potential and will try to pick early wickets.  If I get an opportunity I will try to do well and win games for my side," Avesh said in a pre-match interview.

The 26-year-old talked about the opportunities that IPL gives to an upcoming players like Avesh as they play against world-class players.

"You get exposure to bowling against different countries and different batters. So, you always need to be up for the challenges and do well in a variety of circumstances." 

"My performance has been okay-ish this season so far as no match-winning performance have come from my side. Captain and coaches want me to perform well and win games for the franchise. We played only three games this season so far and over that I didn't play in the last game due to my injury. If I get an opportunity I will try to do well and win games for my side."

Lucknow are coming off a win into this clash, meanwhile RCB lost their last clash against Kolkata on Thursday. However, the home team has an edge over the visitor in the IPL, winning two on two.
