KL Rahul has always enjoyed batting against Royal Challengers Bangalore, scoring 474 runs and averaging 118.5 against the Bangalore team. However, the Lucknow Super Giants captain has struggled with the bat in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) thus far.

Against Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad, the LSG skipper was heavily criticized for struggling to find runs at the required rates and thus putting extra pressure on the batters.

However, Team India's former head coach Ravi Shastri, who worked in close quarters with Rahul, stated that the keeper-batter would come good against his former IPL franchise.

"I think he (KL Rahul) will aim to play a big innings but with a rapid approach. With the presence of Kyle Mayers, (Marcus) Stoinis and (Quinton) de Kock yet to come, LSG have a powerful batting line-up. So KL Rahul can take chances (for the big hits at the start)," Shastri told ESPNcricinfo ahead of RCB vs LSG.

The cricketer-turned-commentator gave away the success formula to the LSG skipper, saying he need to survive for the first 5-6 overs to go berserk against Bangalore.

"I have enjoyed watching him bat. He is a destructive player, and if he gets good batting conditions, then he can set the game in 5-6 overs. He can create a platform for his side for a big total," Shastri added.

LSG have just played RCB twice, with both the games going in the latter's favour. However, with tied up against Lucknow, the KL Rahul-led unit will look to outfox the home team at Bengaluru on Monday.
