In the ongoing IPL 2023 match between two arch-rivals, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, the former got off to a dream start, courtesy of a some sensational hitting from their captain, Rohit Sharma. However, CSK bounced back strongly, as Tushar Deshpande stunned Sharma, shattering his middle stump through a magical delivery.
After being put into bat first, Mumbai Indians were off to a magnificent start, with Sharma and Ishan Kishan powering them to 38 in 3.5 overs. The former adopted an aggressive approach right from the start, striking three fours and a six for his gorgeous 21-run cameo.
However, Deshpande bowled an absolute ripper to beat his outside edge and castle the middle stump. The delivery came into Sharma in the air but moved away from him after pitching, leaving him in disbelief.
Meanwhile, despite getting an outstanding start, Mumbai Indians have lost the plot, losing five wickets inside nine overs. After Sharma's departure, the CSK spin twins, Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner, have wreaked havoc in the hosts' camp, scalping four more wickets.
While Jadeja removed the dangerous Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green, Santner got rid of Suryakumar Yadav and Arshad Khan.
As of writing, MI are reeling at 79 for 5, with Tilak Varma and Tim David batting on 6* and 3*, respectively.
