In a massive blow to the Rajasthan Royals, they will miss star batter Jos Buttler in their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 clash against the Delhi Capitals tomorrow. Buttler, suffered a finger injury while taking a successful catch in the Royals' maiden home game in Guhawati against Punjab Kings (PBKS).

As per Times of India, England's white-ball skipper will sit out this match and could return for Rajasthan's away encounter against Chennai Super Kings next week on Wednesday.

Buttler required several stitches after the injury and did not come out to open the innings for Rajasthan, which witnessed Ravichandran Ashwin partner Yashasvi Jasiwal up front.

The keeper-batter scored just 19 off 11 balls in the Sanju Samson-led franchises' five-run loss to the Kings.

Joe Root could replace his England teammate, and make his much-awaited IPL debut.

Buttler started the IPL 2023 with a bang, blitzing to a 22-ball 54 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, where the Royals posted a mammoth total of 203 runs. SRH managed 131 runs as the Jaipur-based side won the match comfortably by 72 runs.

RR are fourth in the points table with one win and one loss.
