Ever since Brendon McCullum took over the reins of England's Test coaching, the entire cricketing paradigm has shifted towards 'BazBall'. England's resurgence is quite evident with them winning 10 out of their last 12 Tests under coach McCullum and new captain Ben Stokes.

However, the duo will face a formidable opponent in Australia this summer at home when they travel for the much-anticipated The Ashes 2023. Former England captain and Ashes-winning captain Sir Alastair Cook has said that he expects the side to come out hard and play aggressive cricket as they have.

Australia are current holders of the coveted urn after winning the 2021-22 series 4-0 at home against Joe Root-led England.

Speaking to INews, Cook stated that England should not be fearful and change their style of play because Australia has an excellent bowling attack.

Here's what Cook said

"Every side who’s come across England have said ‘they won’t do it against our bowlers, they won’t do it in these conditions’ and they have done it. So just because it’s the Ashes and against a very good bowling attack doesn’t mean they can’t do it.

"I’ve also been impressed with the way they’ve adapted at certain times. It hasn’t always been a positive approach, they have sucked up pressure, they have played situations well."

Cook, 41, continues enjoy playing County cricket despite having retired internationally in 2018. The first Test begins on June 16 at Edgbaston.
