In a major blow to Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) expectations, star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has pulled off from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 due to availaibility issues.
KKR management want a foreigner who is available for the entirety of the IPL season, but Shakib has national duties to fulfil and as a result, KKR are in a hunt for a foreign player who can be available for the entire IPL season.
Last week it was announced that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not given the NOC clearance to Shakib and fellow teammate Litton Das to play in the IPL, as the Test match against Ireland was loomering around.
As per reports circulating, Shakib was supposed to join the KKR team after the completion of the Test match, but things took a U-turn and the all-rounder decided to pull out of the mega event.
There is no confirmation on the availaibility of Litton Das. However, it is expected that the opening batter might also pull out of IPL.
Talking about KKR, they lost their opening match at the hands of Punjab Kings. The team started on a wrong foot and will be eager to get the first points on the board when they face RCB on April 6.
