Match number 6 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will feature MS Dhoni return back to his second home-town Chennai to face off against KL Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

It's going to be an emotional ride with the 'Thala' going back to where it all started for him and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) - at the famous M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.

CSK lost their opening contest at the hands of defending champions Gujarat Titans and will be aiming to bounce back in their own backyard. On the other hand, LSG started the tournament on a positive front, winning their first match against Delhi Capitals.

It was the Mark Wood show as he fired all guns blazing and took his maiden fifer to rattle the visitors. KL Rahul failed to perform with the bat, but will be looking to come good this time around.

CSK vs LSG: Head to Head

The two teams have only played a solitary contest, with LSG winning the sole battle. The game took place last season when CSK posted a healthy 210, but the target was chased with 6-wickets in hand by a strong LSG unit.

Key Players for both teams

LSG

Kyle Mayers - In the first match of the tournament against DC, Mayers showed his skills with a breath-taking 73 off 38 deliveries, with a strike-rate of 192.11

Mark Wood: The comeback man for LSG. Mark Wood is a menacing pacer and DC found it out first hand. The Englishman took a fifer and derailed DC's chase.

CSK

Ruturaj Gaikwad: The swashbuckling opener slammed a quick-fire 92 against GT in the opening contest and will be the key player for CSK once again.

Rajvardhan Hangargekar: On a day when every CSK bowler failed, the young Hangargekar was the only shining light for MSD, picking up 3 for 36 in his four overs.

Who will win today's match?

CSK in their own backyard are a force to reckon with. However, LSG are high on confidence after that drubbing of Delhi Capitals. LSG are a much balanced side as compared to CSK and should walk out victorious tonight.
