Aakash Chopra Tips Krishnappa Gowtham as 'Impact Player' for LSG vs CSK Clash

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 6 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Monday. While CSK lost their opening game to defending champions Gujarat Titans, LSG thrashed DC by 50 runs and are running high on adrenaline.

Ahead of the clash between CSK and LSG, former cricketer turned commentator, Aakash Chopra, suggested that the visitors should deploy Krishnappa Gowtham as an Impact Player in their upcoming game.

While analysing the match on his YouTube channel, Chopra pointed out that Gowtham's impressive off-spinning capabilities make him an ideal choice for the role in spin-friendly conditions at Chepauk.

"I feel Krishnappa Gowtham can once again be the Impact Player because this team does not have too many off-spinners. If you get to bowl first, you will see Krishnappa Gowtham in the XI itself and then you might see Ayush Badoni playing as an Impact Player later, said Chopra.

The former opener also highlighted the LSG's strong spin-bowling lineup, which includes Ravi Bishnoi, Krunal Pandya, and Amit Mishra, and emphasized that Gowtham's inclusion could add further depth to the unit.

“The bowling is looking very good in terms of horses for courses. They have Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya, an option in the form of Krishnappa Gowtham in the spin department, and if they want they can play Amit Mishra as well." added the erstwhile cricketer.

Furthermore, the Indian veteran also praised the LSG's seam-bowling attack, which features Avesh Khan, Jaydev Unadkat, and Mark Wood, who was named Player of the Match in their previous game for his brilliant five-wicket haul.
