Rajasthan Royals' wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal added another cherry on his IPL cake on Sunday as he leapfroged Amit Mishra to become the leading wicket-taker in the tournament's history among Indians.

Chahal, who was tied with veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra at 166 wickets before the outing against the SunRisers Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon, clinched the record when he knocked over young Harry Brook with a slider.

This also proved to be Chahal's 300th T20 wicket, and, now he is just behind Dwayne Bravo (183) and equal with Lasith Malinga (170) as far as leading wicket-takers in IPL is concerned.

Chahal didn't stop here. The Haryana leggie seemed to have picked off from where he had left in the last season as he added three more wickets to his tally to finish with match-winning figures of 4/17 in 4 overs.

After Brook, it was Mayank Agarwal's turn to be Chahal's victim. The opener, in an attempt to slog sweep a wrong'un, only managed to toe end it to long-off.

Chahal then finished off the proceedings by cleaning up Adil Rashid and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to hand Rajasthan Royals a commanding 72-run win in their IPL 2023 campaign opener.

Chahal's performance mirrored that of his team, which had a near-perfect outing on the day against a beleaguered SunRisers Hyderabad outfit.
