The impact rule is Indian Premier League (IPL) has been introduced for the first time this season as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wanted something different by adding value to the league. This rule means that teams can bring in a player from the five options they selected during the toss who can replace anyone from the playing XI.

For the match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC), the former brought in off-spinning all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham in place of Ayush Badoni who got out on the second last delivery of the first innings.

As soon as he walked out, Gowtham came in and created an impact straightway by banging a six on the final ball.

Krishnappa's six propelled LSG to 193 with a magnificent fifty from Kyle Mayers whereas Badoni before losing his wicket thumped two maximums.

Meanwhile, the Capitals made the decision of replacing left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed with all-rounder Aman Khan.

Ahmed delivered an outstanding spell of two for 30 in his four overs before being substituted.

At the time of publishing, Delhi are 47/2 after the end of their mandatory powerplay of six overs while chasing 194.
