What happened to Kane Williamson?

Williamson, who was playing his first game for the Titans after eight seasons with Sunrisers Hyderabad, sustained a serious knee injury while attempting to intercept a ball hit by CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. Despite saving two runs, the former Kiwi skipper fell awkwardly, with his right foot hitting the ground with full force.

Williamson received immediate medical attention, but he was unable to return to the field, with the Titans opting to bring on B Sai Sudarshan as a substitute fielder. Later, the impact player rule was used to swap the two players in the XI.
