With a day to go for the world's biggest cricketing extravaganza Indian Premier League (IPL), the news from the Mumbai Indians camp is that skipper Rohit Sharma is down with an illness. This was revealed after all the captains met for a photo shoot and press conference at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to pose along with the trophy where everyone apart from Rohit were present.

This could come as a big blow to the franchise if the skipper fails to recover on time before their clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 2nd April.

Further, a source was quoted as saying to the Times of India that Rohit is not well to attend the event where others were present. However, he was confident that the opener would be able to take the field for the RCB clash.

"He was unwell and thus could not travel to Ahmedabad for the pre-IPL captains' meeting and photoshoot. He is, however, likely to be available for MI's opening game in IPL-2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2."

Moreover, the meeting which took place between all the captains and the board had some agendas which included saliva ban, umpires' soft signal, concussion replacement, the pace of play, Super Over, DRS reviews and countdown, an in-match penalty in the 20th over (due to slow over-rate), the role of the fourth umpire, waist-high full tosses and wides, code of conduct, notification for time-out, innings timer and the new Impact Player rule.

However, with all the talks going on, player workload management was the only topic which was left out of the meeting room.
