Bangladesh will face Ireland in the second T20I of the ongoing three-match series on March 29 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.
Team Preview: Bangladesh
After winning the ODI series 2-0, Bangladesh continued their dominant run as they steamrolled Ireland to achieve a 22-run victory (DLS method) in the first T20I.
Rony Talukdar and Litton Das dished out a batting exhibition. While the former smashed his maiden T20I fifty, the latter scored a 23-ball 47 as Bangladesh reached 207/5 before rain interrupted the play.
On the bowling front, Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud played the leads in restricting Ireland to 81 runs as they were given a revised target of 104 in eight overs.
After Mahmud provided the first breakthrough in the form of Ross Adar, Taskin followed up with four wickets ending his two-over spell at 4-16.
Team Preview: Ireland
Ireland are yet to record a win on the tour, leaving aside the practice game. It was a collective failure from their end in the previous match as well.
Barring Gareth Delany, no other bowler could perform satisfactorily.
Chasing 104 runs in eight overs was too much to ask for from a unit that has not done well in the recent past. Though Paul Stirling and Co. got an 18-run over to start the innings with, they still fell short of the target by 23.
