In the third and final T20I against Afghanistan, Pakistan's captain Shadab Khan bagged a rare record for his national team. With three wickets on Monday in Sharjah, the leg-spinner became the first Pakistan men's cricket to bag 100 wickets in the shortest format.

While defending a mammoth total of 187 runs, Shadab broke Afghanistan's batting back with his misery of a spell, where he finished the night with 3/13 after three overs.

In terms of the most number of wickets in the shortest format, the Pakistan all-rounder has now surpassed the legendary Shahid Afridi and Bangladeshโ€™s Mustafizur Rahman to get to the sixth position overall.

After 87 T20Is, the all-rounder has snapped 101 wickets at an unreal economy of 6.95 and a dazzling strike rate of 18.4. Meanwhile, he has 370 scalps in the T20 format as a whole.

In his debut series as the Pakistan skipper, Shabad has been a miser with the ball, but he could not translate it into wickets, resulting in them losing to Afghanistan first time.

However, when he got runs on the board, the wily spinner bowled with an all-different glove. Having said that, he batted exceptionally in the first innings, smashing a quickfire 28.

Coming to a conclusion, Pakistan have saved itself from a whitewash as Shabad and Ihsanullah shared six of Afghanistanโ€™s wickets between them.
