What If Covid-19 Did Not Halt IPL 2020, What Would MS Dhoni Be Doing?

MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings or Chennai's MSD. What's the difference? It is really one and the same thing. Isn't it? Despite being born in Ranchi, MSD is Chennai's most beloved son (Okay, sorry... he comes after Rajini sir and Kamal sir). He is one of the most successful captains the Indian Premier League has ever seen, but Captain Cool's CSK also saw vile in 2020.

The year was 2020, the world was shut down because of a deadly disease named coronavirus, and in that topsy-turvy time, Chennai finished in the seventh position at the points table, before the league was postponed for 3 months. YUPPP!!! They failed to qualify for the IPL Playoffs for the first time of their presence.

It was CSK's worst year, not because of the on-field calamities but because there was also drama off-field too.

Chinathala, Mr IPL, Suresh Raina refused to play with his mentor cum bestfriend Thala. DJ Bravo and Harbhajan Singh didn't play that season, putting health above IPL. And then the likes of MSD, Shane Watson, Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar did not fire well for the Yellove Army.

But all these reasons mentioned above might not play come into play if IPL had happened on time. Things could have fared better for CSK if Covid-19 did not hurt the world.

What If 'THAT' break didn't come?

MS played his last international game at Old Trafford in July 2019, in the daunting semifinal match against New Zealand. A year later, through an emotional Instagram video, he announced that he wouldn't be donning the Blue jersey from then on.

However, if the IPL had occurred on time, MS could have gotten the chance in front of that heart-warming crowd. Things might have been different for the Super Kings.

They then would have had Raina and Bravo and Harbhajan in their ranks. Watson, Jadeja, Chahar and MS himself would have been in better touch.

And as he has hinted a while ago that he wants to bid adieu to the IPL in front of his beloved Chepauk people. IPL 2020 could have been a fairytale ending for Chennai's most beloved son after Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

But... things are not at all gloomy, Dhoni will again be donning CSK's jersey but might be to perform his last dance. And the CSK fans will hope that "Dhoni finishes off in style" again and makes it a tango to remember.
