Watch: Umpiring Howler Gifts Mumbai Indians Crucial Breakthrough

Umpiring howler is no stranger to the game of cricket. However, when it occurs in the biggest game of the tournament, questions are raised on the umpiring decisions.

One such incident occurred in the finals of the Women's Premier League (WPL). In the second over of the match bowled by Issy Wong, Shafali Verma took a special liking towards the England bowler and tonked her for a six, followed by a boundary.

Just when the boundary floodgates opened, things turned on its head when Wong delivered a waist-high full toss and Shafali miscued her slog. The top-edge went straight into the hands of the point fielder, and it sparked controversy.

Mumbai Indians players celebrated, but after a long discussion with her skipper Meg Lanning, Shafali took a review for no-ball. However, the decision went against her as the third umpire felt it was just below the waist-height and the decision stayed with the bowling team.

Clearly Shafali was in disbelief and so was Lanning. Shafali's wicket brought the downfall of Alice Capsey, who also departed on a full toss, and it was followed by the big wicket of Jemimah Rodrigues as Delhi Capitals are tottering at 35 for 3, at the fifth over mark.
