MUMBAI INDIANS ARE THE FIRST-EVER CHAMPIONS OF THE WOMEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE!!!!

Arjun: Congratulations Harmanpreet Kaur's Mumbai Indians, but you need to stand up and applaud Delhi Capitals. Not just for the way they fought till the end tonight but for the way they have played throughout the season.

Nat Sciver-Brunt does it with a paddle over the keeper to the fine leg boundary. The crackers go off as the whole MI contingent has rushed onto the field.

Dropped short and Sciver-Brunt pulls it to deep for a couple. Just two runs away from the trophy!!!

Capsey has the ball now. Single taken off her first delivery. MI are just 4 runs away...

16 runs off that Jonassen over. Amelia Kerr bagged two successive fours off her. Mumbai have reduced to 5 runs off the last over.

A boundary to start the penultimate over and that would be FIFTY for Nat Sciver - 53* off 52 deliveries.

Just 5 coming off the 18th over. Pandey is also having a great time tonight. The screws have by tied by Delhi Capitals. How will MI operate in the last two overs? The pressure is on MI...

Arjun: The game is not over by any means. Nat Sciver is still standing tall between DC and the trophy. The English vice-skipper has got some guts. After Harman's dismissal, she scored two boundaries off Capsey - first a sweep off inside edge past the right of the keeper and then she reverse paddled it through the left side of the keeper. Now they need 26 off the last three overs.

Drinks have brought the break for DELHI CAPITALS. It is MI's skipper who gets RUN-OUT in another knockout fixture vs Meg Lanning's team. Is there any more twist remaining in this tale?? MI would now need 37 off 23 balls, Nat Sciver will have Amelia Kerr as her new partner.

Arjun: I hate to say this but the game is still hanging in balance. With four overs remaining, MI need 37 runs to victory. But, but... runs aren't coming that easily. Can the duo of Harman and Nat take MI over the line or will Meg Lanning's DC outfox them in the end? Only time will tell! Drinks have been called for the moment.

Radha comes to bowl her last over. And Harman sweeps her for a four. There was poor fielding at the deep. Manni tried diving but the ball skittles off her arms and reaches the ropes.

Will DC have another such dance tonight?

If not stopped just now, Mumbai Indians will steer to victory.

Arjun: It is Meg Lanning's shrewd captaincy versus Mumbai Indians from here on. The DC captain is working her spinners neatly. The plan is simple for them - just flight the ball up to stop the run-flow and let MI sink in pressure. MI need 65 runs in 48 balls

Capsey is into the attack now, and she gets welcomed with a boundary. MI are pulling things back in the chase.

End of the powerplay. Steady start for Delhi Capitals as well thanks to Jess Jonassen and Marizanne Kapp getting rid of the opening batters. Capitals were 38/3 at the same stage. Some more wickets and good tight bowling will keep them in the hunt.

Review taken and review lost. The ball was slanting down the leg against Nat Sciver, Meg Lanning could have avoided that.

Wow! What a start this for Delhi Capitals. Both openers have been departed. Jess Jonassen does the trick this time around. Comes skipper Harmanpreet Kaur to the middle. MI - 24/2 after first 4 overs.

Sorry RCB fans 🙉🙉

Ninaad: What's with full tosses and wickets in this match?!😵😵

Arjun: Can Radha put any foot wrong tonight?

WICKETTT!! A full toss and Bhatia goes for the big whack across the line. She fails to time it neatly and finds Alice Capsey at the deep mid wicket region. Another full-toss delivery in the match and the wicket is extracted.

Arjun: A cracking drive and Hayley Matthews has started the chase. And she ends the over with another boundary... a square drive from the MI opener.

We are back with chase. Marizanne Kamp will bowl the first over for DC!

An unbeaten partnership of 52 runs by the last women standing. That is the first fifty-plus 10th wicket stand in any women's T20 fixture. DC end their innings on 131 runs on the board.

Radha takes a brace off Wong's hands. She had to dive to make her ground and she does that beautifully. 40 runs stand between these two... and this is the best partnership of Delhi's innings. Can you believe it? AND A MAXIMUMMM TO FOLLOWWW!!! Radha... Radha... Radha!!! Tonks two maximums on the last two balls.

20 runs come off the 19th over. Wong was taken to the cleaners by Pandey there. DC - 117/9 with one over to go. How many more can they get?

Arjun: Shikha Pandey smokes Issy Wong for a maximummmmm!!! A good length delivery in the slot and the batter tonks it over cover. A longgg, longggg hit into the stands... and SHE IS PUMPED! Another classyyyy hit. 6-4-4... what will come next? Just a single on the fourth delivery. Radha joins the party, she smashes third four and fourth boundary of the over.

AND MATTHEWS WILL END HER SPELL WITH ANOTHER SCALP. Taniya Bhatia walks back on a two-ball duck. A double-wicket MAIDEN for Hayley Kristen Matthews, who ends her night with the ball at 3-5 (4.0).

By The Way, Hayley Matthews is bowling one of the most miser spells here. She has bowled three overs lending just 5 runs in them. AND SHE HAS ANOTHER WICKET IN HER LAST OVER. Yes, Mani has got stumped in the middle. After 3.4 overs - Hayley is at 2/5 with a maiden in her bag.

THAT MEG LANNING WICKET 🔥

Drinks break. Delhi are 77 for 7 after 14 overs. Angel number for Meg Lanning's army, but would the angels come to rescue them?

GOSH. A chance for Matthews. A caught and bowled but he drops a tough one. OHHHH MY LORDDDD. Another chance but this one doesn't goes begging. Matthews holds onto it this time around. Delhi are seven down at no score in the WPL 2023 Final.

Arjun: Another one falls. Amelia Kerr has her second for the BIG DAY. It was a delivery down the leg stump, Anuradha Reddy fell for it... and extra bounce does her here. He tries for a slog sweep but top edges into the hands of short fine.

And a RUN-OUT chance here. DC are sinking in deep waters. This could be the biggest fish for Mumbai Indians. Meg Lanning has to go. Meg Lanning is walking. Meg Lanning GONEE!!! It should be the shutter-down for Delhi. Lanning commits for the run but fails to make it in the crease in time. Good pick up and throw from Amanjot Kaur at the keeper's end. Yastika Bhatia is lightning quick and does the rest! DC - 74-5 after 11.5 overs.

MI's social media is on point, fellas. Isn't it???

Live Blogger's curse? Is it a legit term?? If not then I have just invented that. I was just applauding the Lanning-Kapp play, and then comes Amelia Kerr for MI. Just enough turn on this delivery to induce the outside edge of Kapp. Straight in the hands of Yastika Bhatia who grabs and claims the catch! Big breakthrough for the Mumbai Indians.

Look who is in the house!!! 😎

Arjun: Two boundaries and four singles off the 10th over. DC are at 63/3 at the halfway stage of the innings. Both Lanning and Kapp have started what they do the best. Rebuilding work is going phenomenally for Delhi. A couple more overs like this and MI might come under the pump.

Wong with the ball... and IT'S IN THE AIR AGAIN. But fortunately, drops short of a front-diving Matthews. The ball rushes past the fielder and they try to scalp an extra run. Yes, no... Kapp went full way down the track but Lanning was adamant with her stance. The Proteas had to run back and she survives. Phew.. DC, do you really want such risks? Drinks break!

Arjun: DC are three down after PP. Three of their most blistering batters are back in the hut. Issy Wong is all over them at the moment. But if you're a part of Delhi's dugout, then you would want the experience of Meg Lanning and Marizanne Kamp in the middle. And they are out there.

WHATTTT? Another full-toss. Another wicket. Jemimah Rodrigues has to walk back to the hut this time around!

Arjun: Alright then. The chants of SACHINNNN, SACHHINNNN is going out loud in the stadium at the moment. God is there alongside MI's men's team in the arena.

Wasn't that an umpiring howler? 👇

Time for some spin! Saika Ishaque is the first change bowler.

Three back to back fours for DC. A single followed by another boundary. Delhi aren't taking their foot off the accelerator.

Arijit: Haha!! Terrific start for MI. But both of the dismissals in full-toss.

Arjun: Oh gosh. Oh my gosh. Wong, can you please let me write? Wong scalps another one. First Shafali, now ALICE CAPSEY. Wong is breathing fire here in Mumbai. DC are two down now in the second over itself. Two wickets in three balls and both of them have been snapped on full-tosses. Wong has been a SUPERSTAR for MI, and she's continuing with that reputation.

Shafali Verma out, Alice Capsey in. 12/1 (1.3 overs)

Six. Four. High full toss by Issy Wong... that's high in the AIR!! Shafali Verma has to go? She has given a simple catch to the fielder at point, but both Lanning and Verma think it's a NO-BALL! Let us see what the umpires believe. NOOO!!! SHAFALI VERMA HAS TO WALK BACK. Wong breaks the first blood for Mumbai Indians in the final.

Arijit: Arjun, I am really happy for Minnu Mani. The only cricketer from Kerala to be a part of this league. A tribal girl from the Wayanad district of Kerala and known for off-spinners. She can be handy with the bat as well.

Arjun: The carnage begins. Lanning & Verma vs Nat Sciver-Brunt.. Here we go!!!

THAT FINAL FEELING!! Literal chills 🥶🥶

Dasgupta: Meg Lanning knows how to win tournaments, and the way she has led her troops, don't be surprised if we witness her lifting the WPL trophy at the end of today's game.

Arjun: Mumbai are going with the same team, meanwhile DC have made one change. Minnu Mani comes in for Poonam..

Toss Time

Delhi have won the toss and they will bat first!!

Delhi Capitals: Shafali Verma, Meg Lanning (c), Jemimah Rodrigues, Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav, Alice Capsey, Taniya Bhatia (wk), Minnu Mani, Jess Jonassen, Arundhati Reddy

Mumbai Indians: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Amelia Kerr, Natalie Sciver, Pooja Vastrakar, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Amanjot Kaur, Isabelle Wong, Saika Ishaque, Hayley Kristen Matthews, Humaira Kazi, Jintimani Kalita

Arjun: It's another Meg vs Harman! We have been habitual of seeing these two lionhearts be at loggerheads in knockout games. Although with her national team, Lanning has been the more formidable one but beating Harman in Harman's backyard would be tough for the great Meg Lanning herself.

Hello and welcome to OneCricket's Live Blog of the blockbuster final of the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL 2023). The highly-anticipated finale is between Meg Lanning's Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) and the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W).

Delhi, who reached the final directly, have peaked at the right time. Meanwhile, despite winning five on five at the start, Mumbai got almost before the business ended. However, these two teams have been the most formidable sides this season.
