All-right! It's time to say goodbye from one of the best ODI series in recent times. Fascinating to see both sides fighting till the end to earn the prize. However, Australia were slightly better than the Indians today which got them the trophy. It's goodnight from Arnav Chopra on the behalf of OneCricket from this series and we'll see you soon as a lot of action being lined-up in the coming few days. See-ya!

Adam Zampa has been declared player of the match for his memorable figures of 4/45 in 10 overs whereas Mitchell Marsh has been adjudged player of the series for 194 runs in three matches with two half-centuries to his name.

This is India's first series loss at home since March 2019. The previous team to beat them was Aaron Finch led Australia.

Australia win by 21 runs

Run-out! India bowled out

Kuldeep Yadav is run-out after some confusion among the batters. Back of a length angling in, Kuldeep pulls it down to the mid-on fielder and sets off for an impossible single. Both players are at the same end and the run-out is achieved at the striker's end. All-in-all, India is all out for 248.

Arnav: Steve Smith and Australia must be given the due credit for their inspiring show throughout the series.

Bowled Him

Shami loses his off-stump here to Stoinis. Surely, this is end of India's hopes as just one wicket is left and runs are just too much.

Shami keeps India in hunt

Gets the bat on ball on two occasions, one six and one four. Shami is no mood to give up here.

Adam Zampa records his best figures against India: 4/54 in 10 Overs

Game Over for India

Ravindra Jadeja has lost his wicket playing a poor short that he could have avoided. Comes down the track to Zampa and loses his shape, the balls goes up and is caught by Stoinis.

EQUATION: 51 runs in 36 balls

After 44 Overs, India: 219/7

Review from Australia

Huge appeal but given not out. Australia review it. Fair delivery. Ultra edge shows a spike as the ball is near the bat. Not out. Australia lose both of their reviews. Zampa has done well here.

Pandya has to go!

Aggressive captaincy from here from Steve Smith. He wanted Pandya to for the big shot and he fell in the trap! This was on the cards. Leg break on a full-length on the stumps. Turns away a tad after pitching and Pandya goes against the spin trying to slog across the line. Gets a top edge, which balloons towards covers, where Smith back peddles a couple of steps before completing the dismissal with a good catch.

9:32 PM IST | Interesting tactics here from Australia. They have kept a straight-on here against Hardik Pandya. And he hits to that fielder but just falls short.

Meanwhile, an unwanted visitor is in the stadium. An Eagle has paid the visit to Chepauk. A slight halt in play....

Arnav: India need around 6.5 runs an over from here. Anything that could dent their hopes is a wicket. They have to save wickets now. These two surely have the courage to win this game for India.

EQUATION: 66 runs in 60 balls

40 Overs Done, India: 204/6

India gets to 200 with a four

Pandya gets a much-needed boundary. This one helps India to cross the 200-run mark. Back of a length delivery angling into the leg stump line. Pandya, on the back foot, swivels and helps it on its way with a pull through fine leg for a four.

Arnav: Now, the game has changed. Jadeja as walked in to join Pandya in the middle. Certainly, this in Australia's favour at this stage.

Suryakumar Yadav has bagged a Golden Duck in all three games of this series

No Way! No Way! Surya bags Golden Duck

India are stunned! Suryakumar Yadav is cleaned up by Ashton Agar on the very first delivery. This is hurting India now. Surely, Surya's dismissal has given the visitors a upper hand on this match.

Surya was getting impatient for a while when he was waiting in the dressing room. Was having a chat with Rohit about something related to it.

India in trouble, Kohli walks back!

WICKET! CAUGHT! AND IT'S THE CRITICAL WICKET OF KING KOHLI! Around the wicket, full length delivery, on the off stump, Kohli goes for an inside out shot but he lifts it high in the air and straight down the throat of Warner at long off!

Arnav: India well in control now, these two can keep batting and could finish without much hassle.

Required score for India under 100 now...

Pandya with two sixes

Another one from the Baroda All-rounder against Agar. Around the wicket, full length delivery, on the leg stump, Pandya sweeps it firmly through the backward square region to send the ball crashing into the ropes!

Pandya walks in bangs a six straightaway....

50 for King! That's the man we know!!

What!! Axar is Runout!!

Steve Smith and Alex Carey does fabulous work to get Axar Patel run-out here. He was wandering out in the middle and Smith with back-hand throw towards stumps does the business. Now, that is a big blow for India. They are four down now.

Third Down for India!!

Rahul falls trying to clear the long-on boundary, that was in the slot from Zampa and the right-hander plays a powerful stroke which was thought to connect well initially but unfortunately  is caught by Sean Abbott. He is out for 32.

Rahul in the Groove!

KL Smashes Starc down the ground with an outstanding strike. It was pitched up and right in the slot as Rahul utilizes the opportunity to smash that. Two balls later, he finds a boundary over cover with an inside out stroke.

25 Overs Done, India: 123-2

Stumping check against Kohli

Excellent piece of wicket-keeping from Alex Carey as he knocks the stumps with any delay. Kohli forwards presses and gets beaten by Agar. Ultra edge shows a flat line. Replays come in. Looks close. The back foot was slightly in the air but came back on the ground when the bails were removed. Not out.

Arnav: India looks in command as we go through a slow passage of play. Kohli and Rahul controlling the game well.

100 up for India with that six!

Kohliii takes the centrestage!!

That was beautifully played by the right-hander over the deep extra cover region. It was full and Kohli plays a wonderful inside-out shot that grabs all the limelight. That was magnificently timed and gets the result it deserved.

Everyone when Kohli scores a run......

DG: Vicious turn from Ashton Agar, straight up. That got Rahul beaten all ends up. Something to worry for the Indians.

Goneee!!! Gill is Gone!!!

Umpire denied the appeal after Gill tried to play it with the straight bat as the ball from Zampa was going down the leg and a bit of question on bat-pad. Sent Upstairs. Pad first. Pitching in-line. Impact on stumps. Wickets HITTING!! He is walking back. India loses their second.

Review from Australia

Back of a length delivery, outside the off stump, Kohli misses out on a cut but the fielders on the off side have gone up! The umpire is unmoved, DRS coming up, and there appears to be a HUGE GAP between the ball and bat! NOT OUT!

Arnav: Kohli is in! And you can hear the roar out loud here at Chepauk!

Indian Captain walks back!

WICKET! CAUGHT! OH NO! Rohit finds the fielder on this one! A brilliant cameo comes to an end. Back of a length delivery, on the stumps, Rohit pulls it straight to Starc at deep forward square for a simple catch who gets a bit of a blow on the fingers.

Rohit Goess Bigg!!

That's good hit from the Hitman. Just in his zone, Sharma uses his feet well and deposits the ball out of the boundary. That was such a comfortable shot by the big-hitter, wonderful timing by the skipper.

Rohit gets into the act!

SIX! Rohit was itching to get back on strike! WOW! The Hitman has entered the game! Full length delivery, outside the off stump, Rohit shuffles across and lifts it beautifully over the long off boundary for a MAXIMUM!

Gill on fire!!

Two boundaries in the over for Gill versus Starc. First the short arm jab and then the classy cover drive to showcase his temperament. Now, he looks set. These two shots are a testimony of his class.

Sixxx!! Gill on the charge!

Shubman Gill flicks one beautifully against Starc for a six. That was full, on the leg stump, and Gill lashed out on the opportunity to clear the mid-wicket boundary.

Arnav: Starc steaming-in! He looks serious here after his wonderful spell of bowling in Vizag in the last game claiming a fifer. Surely, the left-arm pacer is high on confidence.

NO BALL from Stoinis!

Overstepping from the Aussie all-rounder in the second over gives an opportunity to the Men in Blue to go big but Gill misses the free-hit completely here. Lucky for Australia! This was the very first delivery from Stoinis and he needs to get his line right here.

6:04 PM IST | Alright, the first ball to be bowled by Mitchell Starc. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill to open for India. Ball will spin later and it could get a little difficult as the match progresses.

We'll back after a short break for the chase....

India need to 270 to win the match and take the series 2-1

Arnav: It was decent fight back by Australia after being five down for 138. Credit goes to the lower middle order for keeping them in the game.

Australia All-Out!

Starc pulls one to straight into the hands of Ravindra Jadeja at deep-midwicket. Siraj with the final breakthrough as Australia folds for 269 in 49 overs. That was short and he was looking for some runs here. Struck a six on the second delivery but falls on the final one.

Arnav: Australia have been crawling for sometime now and they are close to 270 at this stage which is definitely little above par now.

250 on the board. They have somehow reached here...

Ninth player back in the hut!

Siraj bowls a short one her and Agar couldn't do much here as he tries to pull this one but could only reach Axar at deep-midwicket. One wicket remaining. They need see out these 27 deliveries.

Bowled Him!

Axar cleans up Sean Abbott with a straighter one that was quick. Disturbs the furniture as the batter tries gives himself room. Now then, 8th down for the Aussies.

Two sixes in the an over!

Agar and Abbott smacks one each against Axar Patel. That's good from the Aussies. Much needed boost.

6 over remaining, 231 on the board for the visitors!

Arnav: Australia slowly trying their best to keep themselves in the game. They need 40 runs more to get a respectable total here.

40 Overs Done, Australia: 209/7

Review for LBW!

Huge appeal but not given out by the umpire. Looks like impact outside the off. Meanwhile, Indian have sent this upstairs. Fair delivery. No bat is involved. Ball tracking shows the impact is outside the off. Nitin Menon stays with his original decision of not out.

Bowled him! Peach from Kuldeep!

That was on good length from the left-arm spinner, basically outside the leg-stump of Carey who tries to defend it but is beatan all ends up. That spun square! Knocks his off-stump out of nowhere. Just too good!

200 on the board for Australia!

That was Close

It was on the off from Pandya, and Carey uses the opportunity to play the cut with hard hands. Just close to the fielder at point who is Suryakumar Yadav and that manages to find the boundary.

Axar Strikes!

Marcus Stoinis plays a lofted shot down the ground but couldn't connect well and only manages to find Shubman Gill at long-on. It was full, on the off stump and was turning a little which actually decieved him.

50 Partnership up between Carey and Stoinis! Something for Australia to be positive about!

No ball followed by a Six. It's Carey!

That was a handsome shot by Alex Carey against Axar that too on the free-hit as the left-armer delivered a no-ball on the previous one. It was full and on the stumps, Carey powerfully thumps that down the ground.

Akshaya: Arnav, it's because of a brilliant spell from Hardik Pandya followed by Kuldeep Yadav.

Arnav: Yes DG, they have fallen behind courtesy of some wickets in the middle overs. Maybe, 250 could be on the cards and they would fancy that.

DG: At one point it looked as if Australia would score in excess of 300, but now even 200 looks far away from their grasp.

KL Rahul is back on the field. He will be keeping the wickets now.

Kuldeeeeep strikes

A struggling Marnus Labuschagne departs. Tossed up ball from Kuldeep that enticed Labuschagne to go for a big one. He steps down the track and gets it from the outer part of the bat as the fielder at Long-off takes a simple catch.

DG: Hardik is India's MVP. He has turned the game, first with his bowling, and then by taking a really sharp catch. Where others failed, he stood up.

Australia: 126/4 after 25 Overs

Another one down! Warner loses his wicket

It's Hardik Pandya again but this time with the catch. Well bowled by Kuldeep Yadav, it was flighted and Warner tries to come down the track, only manages to get elevation but no distance. Pandya was quick to get there.

Sixxx!! Labushange into the act!

That was a gutsy slog sweep from Marnus Labuschagne against Axar. Just goes over the deep mid-wicket fielder for a six. Well timed that. Could have been easily caught but the connection was so good there.

Droppeddd!!! Siraj puts one down here!

That was on the leg by Jadeja, Warner sweeps it through the on-side where Siraj attempts the catch with a full-length dive but only got his fingertips. That was a genuine effort from the seamer, unfortunately, would count as a drop!

What a delivery!!

Kuldeep beats Warner with a classic turner that spins away from the left-hander. Appeal for Caught behind but is denied rightfully by the umpire. That was so close to the bat, but is saved anyway.

KL Rahul off the field!! Ishan in his place keeping the wickets. No information on why Rahul is out.

Hardik on a roll

It's the man in form Mitchell Marsh who has to depart, three short off his half-century. That was length from Pandya, little on the off, Marsh tries to push it but gets an edge back onto his stumps. The middle one goes for a walk.

Meanwhile, the newly renovated MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai where this match is happening has gotten some features.

Two in two overs from Hardik Pandya

Skipper Steve Smith departs for a duck. Good length, outside the off stump. Smith with no feet movement chases the ball and the outside-edge is safely taken by KL Rahul. India are back in the contest.

Head departs, Pandya gets his wicket

Short and wide as Head flashes hard and the outside-edge flies straight into the hands of Kuldeep Yadav at Third man. India, finally have a breakthrough....

DROPPPPED. Travis Head dropped byy Shubman Gill. Pandya dugs a bouncer and Head pulls it towards deep square. Gill charges forward and fails to gobble it with his attempted dive. How costly will that be?

DG: Time to give pacers some rest. Rohit should act quickly here...

Hometown boy speaks

BREAKING: We have a new number one ranked ODI bowler. Australia's Josh Hazlewood has displaced Mohammed Siraj from the top of the ranking charts.

DG: David Warner is likely to bat at number 4. He has fallen down in the pecking order and with the rise of Marsh and Head, he'll find it really tough to cement a place in the World Cup squad.

DG: 500 on the cards? Okay, maybe I'm just dreaming. The Indian attack looks toothless and the boundary floodgates have opened for Australia.

Arjun: I won't say that there's no assistance for the Indian seamers with the new ball, but the Australians are negating it with powerful strokes. I guess the pacers need to pull their lengths a tad back on this pitch. You can't afford to bowl fuller here.

Alright then. Action is all set to begin. Shami has the new ball in hand, while Travis Head and Mitch Marsh have opted as openers over the likes of 'David Andrew Warner'.

IND vs AUS: Playing XIs

Probuddha: Yes there is no harm in trying that idea for a match or too. You mentioned Ravindra Jadeja, I would also say Axar. He has recently improved his batting too much. Also, being left-handers they add that variety to the batting line up. Yeah, so definitely India can try that.

Arjun: Just a random thought, but why not I think of playing all four all-rounders (Hardik, Jadeja, Axar & Washi) together? I mean, Jadeja is too good to be a Number 5 batter. He can bat at No. 5 for any team in the world. Plus, every side is trying to play with as many all-rounders as possible.

Probuddha: Yes, for this series there was no other option. India could have gone with someone else to begin with. Someone who is doing well in the domestic circuit. I think you know by now.

Arjun: So, my dear friend, Probuddha, Suryakumar Yadav has been given another day to tell his tale. What do you make from it?

IND vs AUS: Toss Update

Cameron Green and Nathan Ellis are sitting out today.

Australia have won the toss and they will bat first in Chennai. For the visitors, David Warner and Ashton Agar have come in. India have opted no changes.

Probuddha: Yes as we are talking about the World Cup plans, I don't see Suryakumar Yadav fitting into those plans. India is still trying to make an ODI player out of him which is rather fruitless. It would have been much better if India looked for some other option.

Arjun: Despite the Vizag hammering, the Rohit Sharma-led India might keep their Playing XI the same. However, they would have to shortlist a few shortcomings keeping the ODI World Cup in mind.

IND vs AUS: Probable XIs

India: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul (WK), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj.

Australia: Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Alex Carey (WK), Cameron Green, Nathan Ellis, Marcus Stoinis, Sean Abbott, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa.

Now, at Chennai, the onus and pressure will be on the Men in Blue to win the series decider, or else it will be their maiden ODI series loss in four years at home.

Fun Fact: The last time India lost an ODI series in India, Australia were the silverware baggers.

Hello and welcome to OneCricket's Live Blog of the third and final ODI between India and Australia, live from Chennai's M. A. Chidambaram Stadium. Steve Smith's Australia levelled the series with a thumping victory at Vizag, courtesy of Mitchell Starc's magical fifer that was followed by Mitchell Marsh & Travis Head's blistering showdown.
