On Friday, Afghanistan scripted history, recording their first-ever victory against Pakistan across formats. Bowling first, the hosts restricted the Men in Green to a paltry 92 and later chased it down inside 18 overs to go one-nil up in the series.

Following their shambolic performance, Pakistan, who fielded an inexperienced lineup, faced massive backlash, especially from their media and ex-players.

Meanwhile, former opener Ramiz Raja reckoned that the visitors should concentrate on acclimatising to the alien conditions and play accordingly.

Furthermore, the ex-PCB chief advised Pakistan to include an extra spinner in the rest two games, considering Sharjah track's conduciveness for spin bowling. He also expected the series to be a hard-fought one with the conditions favouring the tweakers.

Here's what Raja stated

"There is a lot of talent in Pakistan but these players also need to make the necessary adjustments in accordance with the situation of the game. If the pitch remains like this, I think it will be an exciting series. Now the pressure is on Pakistan and we have to see what they learn from this defeat,

“Looking at the pitch, I think you can play one additional spinner since the surface won’t offer assistance to the pacers unless you are express like Ihsanullah."

Trailing by 0-1, Pakistan will give it their all to stay alive in the series when they take on Afghanistan in the second T20I at the same venue on Sunday.
