Suryakumar Yadav is one of the most exciting batting talents in modern-day cricket, however, the player has not done justice to his skills in One-Day Internationals. Yadav, who averages just 24 in ODIs, had a woeful time in the Australian series, where he became the only batter to score three back-to-back golden ducks.

While Yadav came to bat at No.4 in the first two ODIs, the Indian team management decided to drop the batter to No.7 in the third and final encounter in Chennai, inviting criticism from former India international Ajay Jadeja

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Jadeja slammed Rahul Dravid and Co. for sending SKY down the order, which according to the former all-rounder expressed management's doubts about the Mumbai Indians player.

Here's what Jadeja said

"You played him, some people thought that he shouldn't play, but you did back him. But you also had a doubt, that's a fact. It was visible through your decision.

You thought 'he isn't in form, so we can't send him at this moment because he is failing against swing'. When he came at the end, the game became even more difficult.”

Jadeja further explained how making SKY wait on the bench for a long time could have been more damaging to his thought process in the third ODI.

The 32-year-old will hope to revive his form in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, keeping in the mind the Asia Cup and World Cup.
