South Africa, helped by Heinrich Klaasen's unbeaten 119, beat West Indies in the final ODI on Tuesday to level the three-match series 1-1. Klaasen played a whirlwind knock that stormed the Windies bowlers away, despite pinning down the hosts four down for 87.

Skipper Temba Bavuma, who missed the series decider due to an injury, hailed South Africa's win and did not shy away from calling it a 'watershed moment' in their white-ball journey.

Bavuma, who himself has been in rich form since taking over the ODI captaincy as per timeslive, stated that the Proteas team is still in the learning process, and wants players to perform in pressure situations.

Here's what Bavuma said

"We know there is still a learning process we will have to go through and we are going to come up against different opponents in different conditions we will have to adapt to. But what we showed in the past two games and the three matches against England, is we have gone a long way in really refining and building our confidence around our brand.

“Watching from the side, it was a watershed moment for us as a team. I hope it also builds the trust and confidence for people who are watching us.”

Before taking on West Indies in ODIs, South Africa beat world champions England in a three-match series 2-1 in January.

Both teams will clash in a three-T20I series starting March 25.
