Former Pacer Explains How Sanju Samson Can Make His International Comeback

Despite being incredibly talented, Indian keeper-batter Sanju Samson hasn't made his mark in international cricket. Marred by inconsistency, Samson hasn't received ample backup from the Indian management.

Meanwhile, his competitor Suryakumar Yadav has also failed to translate his T20I success in ODIs. Regarded as India's Mr 360, Yadav registered two successive ducks in the ongoing ODI series against Australia.

With Yadav going through a rough patch, fans and experts have voiced in favour of Samson's inclusion in the ODI setup.

As the 28-year-old gears up for the IPL 2023, former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth has advised him to balance his aggression and defence in order to have a fruitful IPL and regain his spot in the national side.

Here's what Sreesanth said

"Sanju is a very attacking captain and sometimes, when the occasion comes, he has to step back a bit. That's something I've been telling him,

"That's one, maybe he might have to balance between attacking and defending. Even when it comes to captaincy, he's still learning. But that will be one very important point when it comes to strengths and weaknesses. Sanju has to balance his thoughts and decision making."

In his eight-year-long international career, Samson has represented India in only 28 matches. The Kerala-born will next be seen representing Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023.
