Virat Kohli Will Have to Counter 'Him' in WTC Final: Ex-Pakistan Cricketer's Warning

Former Pakistan spinner, Danish Kaneria reckons that star Indian batter, Virat Kohli's struggle against left-arm pacer in the first ODI against Australia is a huge cause of concern ahead of the WTC finals.

Australia's Mitchell Starc was all over Kohli in the first game in Mumbai, wherein Kohli failed to judge the lines and lengths and was eventually trapped lbw for 4.

Starc returned with figures of 3 for 49, and made the Indian batters toy for every single run.

Kaneria believes that with India set to play Australia in the finals of the WTC in June, Kohli needs to work on his game against the left-arm seamer.

"Virat Kohli isn't comfortable against left-arm pacers when the ball comes back in. He will have to practice to face Mitchell Starc in the World Test Championship final. The team management should bring in left-arm pacers like T Natarajan as net bowlers," Kaneria said on his Youtube channel.

The former Pakistan cricketer also shared his views on KL Rahul's performance in the first ODI and stated that KL Rahul looked composed under immense pressure. At one stage, India had lost their 5 wickets for under 100, but alongside Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul resurrected the innings and took India past the winning line.

Here's what Kaneria said

"KL Rahul has dealt a major setback. He was dropped from the Test team and he knows that he will have to deliver now and have to be very sensible. Dropping someone is never the solution. You need to fix the problems. He looked very composed today and the Australian bowlers couldn't hit his pads as he was getting behind the line of the ball."

India will collide against Australia in the second ODI in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Team India will be looking to seal the series with a win.
