Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has expressed his belief that a victory in the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia, scheduled for June 2023 at The Oval in London, would serve as a significant morale booster for the Indian team ahead of the ODI World Cup later in the year.

Speaking during a Legends League Cricket game, Raina elaborated on his thoughts regarding the potential benefits of winning the WTC Final and how India can prepare for the upcoming event.

The southpaw suggested that India would likely rest several top players in the later stages of the Indian Premier League to keep them fresh and in "prime condition" for the WTC Final.

“If we win the WTC final, it will surely be a morale booster for the 50-over World Cup later in the year," Raina told IANS.

Raina also highlighted the crucial role that key Indian batters, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill, will play in India's success in the WTC Final.

“Look at Virat Kohli; he has just scored a hundred. We were talking about turning tracks, and we saw how well they can play on any track. I would say, Virat, Rohit, and Shubman Gill - he just got one opportunity and he scored a hundred," Mr. IPL concluded.
