Arshdeep Singh Bags a New Deal; Will Play for Kent in County Championship 2023

India pacer Arshdeep Singh opens up a new chapter of his cricketing career as he is set to make his County debut in the summer of 2023.

Signed by the Kent County Cricket Club, Arshdeep is contracted to play up to five matches for the side in the upcoming English red-ball season.

Arshdeep's stint with Kent will run in June-July. It will succeed the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season that will see him play for Punjab Kings.

The club welcomed the seamer via a press release:

"Kent Cricket is delighted to announce that India international bowler Arshdeep Singh will be available to play for the county in five LV= Insurance County Championship matches between June & July, subject to regulatory approval," 

The 24-year-old will become the fourth Indian cricketer to play for Kent after Kanwar Shumshere Singh, Rahul Dravid and Navdeep Saini.

"I am excited to play red-ball cricket in England and continue to improve my skills in the first-class game. I look forward to performing in front of Kent’s Members and supporters; Rahul Dravid has already told me it is a Club with a great history."

Arshdeep, who is yet to make his Test debut for India, has featured in seven first-class games for Punjab, taking 25 wickets at an average and strike-rate of 23.84 and 48.8 respectively.

He will be next seen in action for Punjab Kings in IPL 2023.
