Being a country of billions, India has traditionally been a hub of gifted batters. Starting from Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, the Indian dressing room has been graced by exceptional batting talents from time to time.

Arguably the greatest batter of this generation, Virat Kohli has always been subjected to comparison with the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar throughout his career. While many cricket fans, including some Indians, rate Kohli higher than Tendulkar, legendary former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has come up with a contrasting opinion.

While speaking to podcaster Nadir Ali on his show, Mushtaq reckoned that Sachin shouldn't be compared with anyone, as he dominated many World-Class bowlers from around the world during his illustrious career.

Although the wily tweaker acknowledged Kohli's dominance in the modern era, he maintained that everyone idolises Sachin till date because of his stoic technique and text-book stroke play.

Here's what Mushtaq stated

"If there is one batter - and it's not just me, the whole world agrees - there is no one bigger than Sachin Tendulkar. If you have to give a copybook example of any shot, people give Sachin's example. Virat Kohli is a legend of today's era but Sachin has faced extremely difficult bowlers. The bowlers of that era were something different altogether. Has Kohli faced Wasim Akram? Has he faced Walsh, Ambrose, McGrath, Shane Warne, Muralitharan? These were big names and they were all very clever bowlers. They knew how to trap you."

Speaking of Kohli, the talismanic Indian batter enjoyed stellar success in the recently concluded Test series against Australia, putting an end to his century drought in Ahmedabad. He will next be seen batting in the first ODI in Mumbai, where Australia were 19 for 1 as of writing.
