Big Hitting English Sensation Ruled Out of IPL 2023

In a breaking news, England's Will Jacks has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2023). The English all-rounder was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a whopping INR 3.20 crores in the auction held earlier in December 2022.
It is understood that Jacks sustained a muscle injury during the second ODI of the recently concluded Bangladesh tour, which consisted of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.
Jacks wasn’t supposed to be on the Bangladesh tour, but he was late drafted in the English draft after an injury to Tom Abell.
The 24-year-old all-rounder is known in English circuits for his ability to hit the long ball and give stability in the middle order. He showed his prowess in the inaugural edition of the SA20, where he scored 270 runs off seven innings - hitting those runs at a staggering strike rate of 201.49 - apart from providing handy overs with his off-spin.
Jacks was a vital cog of the English squad during their historic Test series victory in Pakistan in 2022-23. In his debut match at Rawalpindi, the all-rounder stunned everyone when he snapped a six-fer in the first innings.
Reportedly, the Bangalore-based franchise is in talks with New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell, who almost single-handedly won an ODI against India at Hyderabad earlier this year.
To everyone’s surprise, Bracewell wasn’t picked by any franchise in the IPL Auction 2023, despite him being an enthralling big-hitting spinner - which is considered to be pure gold dust in the shortest format.
Besides Bracewell, RCB can also look at Sri Lankan white-ball skipper Dasun Shanaka, Travis Head and Corbin Bosch.
With the desire to win its maiden IPL silverware, the Faf du Plessis-led unit will begin its campaign on April 2 against the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians.
