T20 World Champions England were humbled by Bangladesh in the three-match 20-overs series last evening, tasting their third consecutive defeat and handing the hosts their first-ever series over the Three Lions.

England ended up winning the One-Day International (ODI) 2-1 before the T20Is, making their white-ball tour a bittersweet affair. Head Coach Matthew Mott said that the loss in the third and final T20I was painful, and this series has been an eye-opener for his team.

As per cricket.com, Mott stated that the tour has been fantastic keeping in the mind the ICC World Cup 2023, which will be held in India on somewhat similar wickets.

Here's what Mott said

"I thought we were on today. The lead-in was good, everyone was up and about. But for whatever reason, we just couldn't get clean hands with the ball, either in the air or on the ground.

That one hurts today. Obviously we've come over here to do well. To finish the way we did today will leave a bit of a sour taste in our mouths but it also should act as an eye-opener for us on where we need to improve."

Skipper Jos Buttler admitted that Bangladesh outplayed England and they could have chased down 158 in Dhaka.
