A late entrant in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023 for Australia, Matthew Kuhnemann had an impressive outing in India, claiming nine wickets in three Tests. Kuhnemann, who made his debut in Delhi, shone in the Indore Test, where his maiden five-wicket haul helped Australia win the encounter and make a comeback in the series after tasting back-to-back defeats.

Interestingly, Kuhnemann, a self-confessed Ravindra Jadeja fan, is fondly referred to as 'Jaddu' by his Queensland teammates.

Upon completion of BGT 2023, the left-arm spinner finally got to spend time with Jadeja, who the 26-year-old has been eying since the Delhi Test, where the Indian all-rounder refrained from giving any tips.

Speaking to AAP, Kuhnemann revealed that Jadeja gave insights about bowling in sub-continental conditions.

Here's what Kuhnemann said

"It was probably about 15 minutes, he (Jadeja) was just giving me some awesome tips; we talked about everything. Nathan Lyon helped organised it (the chat) as well. He (Jadeja) was really impressed with Todd (Murphy), 'Gaz' (Lyon) and myself so that was really cool to hear that from him.

"He gave me some good tips for the next time we're in the subcontinent and some tips to go back home with as well. He was really nice and just said any time to reach out, and even sent me a message on Instagram, so that was pretty cool."

Jadeja claimed the joint player of the series award along with Ravichandran Ashwin for his good showing with both bat and ball.

The Saurashtra-born finished BGT 2023 as joint second-highest wicket-taker (22) behind Ashwin (25).

While Kuhnemann has returned back to Australia, Jadeja will be in action in the ODI series beginning March 17.
