Bangladesh scripted history when they whitewashed England in the three-match T20Is series last evening. This was Bangladesh's first-ever series win over current T20 World Champions England, which skipper Shakib Al Hasan felt was excellent, considering the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA next year.
Apart from batting and bowling, Bangladesh's fielding across the series was remarkable, which only added to England's downfall. Defending 158, the Tigers produced an all-round bowling show, ensuring their 16-run victory.
As per ICC, Shakib further revealed Bangladesh's goal going ahead, which was to make the side the best fielding nation in Asia.
Here's what Shakib said
"Everyone noticed our fielding in these three matches. We out-fielded England, who are themselves a good fielding side. It is a big tick mark. Our biggest improvement is in our fielding, when I consider every aspect,
"We should always field well, but we have targeted to become the best fielding side in Asia. After this performance, I don't think we are too far behind."
The KKR player lauded Litton Das and Rony Talukdar for their quick-fire opening stand, which laid the foundation for Bangladesh's win in the third T20I.
Das scored 73 off 57 to win the player of the match award, while Najmul Shanto was named the player of the series.
