Cricket has come a long way in the past decade. While Test cricket and ODIs were once the backbone of the sport, the emergence of T20I cricket and franchise tournaments has significantly altered the landscape.

The legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar played a total of 200 Test matches during his illustrious career. His successor, Virat Kohli, has a long way to go to match Tendulkar's record, having played half the number of Test matches.

Opening on the same, the former Australia spinner Brad Hogg urged people not to compare Virat Kohli with Sachin Tendulkar, citing the differences in cricketing eras.

Sharing his opinion on his YouTube channel, Hogg said comparing Virat Kohli with Sachin Tendulkar would not be fair, considering that the Delhi batter had to balance his international commitments with playing in the Indian Premier League.

"Hopefully, we see the best of Kohli again. I think that there was too much pressure on Kohli in the last 2-3 years. The COVID, captaincy, and more cricket being played,"

"Don't compare him with Sachin Tendulkar, because he was able to play more Test matches, and did not have to play IPL for the most part of his career. I also think he is going to make a big one in the WTC Final as well."

After a dry spell that lasted since 2019, Virat Kohli finally broke the jinx and scored a century in Test cricket, smashing 186 runs in Ahmedabad to save the match for India.

With his latest international century, the 34-year-old batsman has now scored an impressive 75 centuries, but it remains to be seen if he can surpass Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 international centuries.
