Batting in India is never an easy task, but Usman Khawaja proved otherwise. The Australian opener in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 slammed 333 runs to finish as the leading run-getter ahead of Virat Kohli (297).

Khawaja, who has been in-rich form since making his way into the Australian Test side last year, scored a magnificent 180 in the Ahmedabad Test, inviting praise from all corners.

Former spinner Brad Hogg hailed Khawaja's form in the BGT and said that he wants to score as many runs in Asia to prove his critics wrong.

The 36-year-old often spoke about how people talked about his spin-playing abilities, which saw him miss out on a place in the XI during his previous two India tours.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Hogg also said that the ICC Test Championship Final could be David Warner's last hurrah in white colour.

Here's what Hogg said

"Khawaja has a hitlist of people he wants to have a crack at every time he performs well. Everyone was telling him that he cannot play spin and then he got a hundred, so he reminded those people who kept him out of the game for a very long time.

If Warner plays the WTC Final, it could be his last game."

Since 2022, Khawaja has scored 1,608 runs with six centuries and seven fifties.  Former coach Justin Langer kept the left-handed opener out of Australia's Test side during his stint, often inviting criticism.

Khawaja will be in action in the upcoming three-ODI series against India, which commences on March 17 in Mumbai.
