The Delhi Capitals prevailed over Royal Challengers Bangalore in a last-over thriller on Monday evening to move into second place in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 points table.

Chasing 151, Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen's fifth-wicket 45-run stand ensured the Capitals their fourth win of the competition. Alice Capsey (38) and Jemimah Rodrigues (32) also contributed to their win with quick cameos.

Speaking to Jio, Rodrigues sounded elated over Delhi's win and hailed the character of the side in such close matches. Needing seven off four, Kapp slammed a six to finish the match for her side.

The Indian batter did express her disappointment over not taking Delhi over the finish line herself.

Here's what Rodrigues said

“I wanted to finish it off and come, I was disappointed with the way I got out but the way JJ came and hit those boundaries. These are the matches we live for.

I think it is very important for us to be tested that’s when our character is tested. It’s good that we are getting matches like this in the league stages, helps us prepare for the finals,"

Earlier, Ellyse Perry (67*) and Richa Ghosh (37) saw RCB through 150, after being reduced to 63 for 33 in 12.4 overs.

Delhi meets Gujarat Giants on Thursday, while Bangalore takes on UP Warriorz on Wednesday as the tournament moves to the business end.
