In a significant development, Sri Lanka's upcoming home series against Ireland has been rescheduled, with an extra Test match being added to the original schedule proposed earlier.

Although any official word is yet to come, renowned broadcaster Roshan Abeysinghe has shed light on the matter, revealing the details regarding the two-match Test series between the two teams.

As per his tweet, Sri Lanka and Ireland will lock horns in the first Test from April 16 to 20, followed by the decider set to take place between April 24 to 28. Both matches will be hosted by the iconic Galle international stadium.

Furthermore, the famed commentator has also shared the schedule of Sri Lanka's home series against Pakistan, who will tentatively cross swords with the home side in two Test matches between July 13 and 31.

Meanwhile, the Lankans recently suffered a heartbreak, failing to qualify for the World Test Championship final after incurring a painful two-wicket defeat to New Zealand in the first Test in Christchurch.

Chasing a target of 285, New Zealand were in a precarious position at one stage before Kane Williamson, and Daryl Mitchell rescued them, securing a memorable win for ages.

Trailing by 0-1, the visitors will take on the BlackCaps in the series decider starting this Friday in Wellington.
