In a remarkable turn of events, swashbuckling English batter Harry Brook and experienced Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner have won the ICC player of the month for February in Men's and Women's category, respectively.

Since debuting last year, Brook has established himself as a vital cog in the English setup across formats. After grabbing a million eyeballs through a string of impressive outings in white-ball cricket, the dynamic right-hander earned accolades for his stunning batting performances in the Pakistan Tests.

Continuing his dream run in Tests, Brook became the poster-boy of England's brand new Bazball approach in the New Zealand series last month, amassing 329 runs in four outings at a tremendous average of 82.25 and a blistering strike rate of 110.40.

On the other hand, the rise of Ashleigh Gardner in Women's white-ball cricket has been nothing short of inspirational.

After emerging as Australia's wrecker-in-chief with both bat and ball in the India, Gardner guided her team to a triumphant T20 World Cup campaign in South Africa last month, garnering 110 runs and scalping 10 wickets at a surreal economy of 6.25.

In her reaction, the 25-year-old said,

"Thank you to everyone who voted me the ICC Women’s Player of the Month. The past month has been ground-breaking for women’s cricket and it’s an exciting time for our sport. The T20 World Cup was a brilliant tournament, and playing the hosts South Africa in the Final in front of a packed crowd at Newlands was an incredible experience,

"Our Australian team are fortunate to have a number of world-class players, I’m happy I was able to contribute to our team success over the course of the World Cup."

Gardner, who represents Gujarat Giants in the ongoing Women's Premier League, will be in action tomorrow during her side's crucial clash against Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Brook, who was rested for England's Bangladesh tour, will play the IPL 2023 for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
