WATCH: Virat Kohli Disappointed After Ravindra Jadeja's Soft Dismissal

The fourth day of the Ahmedabad Test between India and Australia of the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2023) was all about Virat Kohli. And why won't it be as the former Indian captain notched up a Test century after a leap of 3 years, 3 months and 17 days? However, apart from that, Kohli gave like million viral reactions during his 8-hour-long marathon to register a 186.

On a day when the batters ruled over the Aussies, Kohli was the show-stopper as he carved three separate 50-plus partnerships with Ravindra Jadeja, KS Bharat and Axar Patel.

However, after the dismissal of the Saurashtra-born, Kohli was left shell-shocked as Jadeja played a nothing shot against the run of play.

The southpaw tried dancing down the track to the off-break bowling of Todd Murphy, looking to smash him against the spin. And, despite surviving a close shave a couple of balls ago, Jadeja repeated the same mistake to get dismissed for an 84-ball 28.

Kohli's reaction after Murphy broke a 64-run partnership explained the whole story. Even Sunil Gavaskar, commentating that time, was left surprised as he said:

"What was the need to play such a shot? Virat Kohli is not impressed, the changing room is not going to be impressed, I can tell you that. Rahul Dravid, the coach is not going to be impressed with this shot."

After Jadeja's soft dismissal, Kohli crafted brilliant partnerships with the keeper-batter Bharat and the man-in-form Axar, helping India post 571/9 (dec) with his remarkable century.

At Stumps on Day 4, the home team leads 88 runs in their bank, with Travis Head and Matthew Kuhnemann being the two unbeaten batters for the visitors.

At this stage, it seems the game is heading towards a draw unless the Indian spinners pull a rabbit out on Ahmedabad's final day's pitch.
