Exile is over, agony is over, now rants will Stop; Virat Kohli Brings a Test century after 1205 Days. The wait for Virat Kohli's Test century has ended as the legendary Indian batter has notched up his first hundred in the longest format since his 136 against Bangladesh in November 2019. With this remarkable feat, Kohli has completed his 28th Test ton at Ahmedabad, taking his tally of centuries across all formats to 75.

In terms of international hundreds, Kohli is just behind his batting icon Sachin Tendulkar Tendulkar, whereas he's India's fourth-highest centurion-maker in the purest format of the game, trailing six behind Sunil Gavaskar's record of 34 Test hundreds.

Meanwhile, with this century, the former Indian captain has equalled Hashim Amla and Michael Clarke with 28 hundreds.

Among the current fab-four of international cricket, the Indian batter is still behind Steve Smith (30) and Joe Root (29), while he is still behind ahead of Kane Williamson, who has 26 tons in Tests.

Kohli began Day 4, alongside Ravindra Jadeja, batting 59 - started today's play with a couple confident strokes. His partner may have struggled a bit against the likes of Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy, but Kohli was using his flick work to perfection and turning everything in the on-side.

However, Jadeja's ploy of going over the leg side poured water on India's dream of going aggressive, as they then had to take a somewhat cautious approach.

Steve Smith's Australia played that to their advantage, attacking with a 7:2 on-side dominant field set-up, which stopped the run flow.

But KS Bharat, who got promoted ahead of Shreyas Iyer, opened his stance to play a maximum over long on and then annihilated Lyon with a square cut.

Kohli, using his mental toughness, despite going into a shell, didn't allow the opposition captain and bowlers to get into his head. Before the Lunch break, he was okay with getting an odd single here or there, but took time to get to glorying three-figure mark quickly.

After Lunch, the modern-day great didn't took long to get to the hundred after starting the session on 88. He completed the landmark against Lyon by collecting a single in the leg side.

At the time of writing, India are nearing to the 400-run mark, with Kohli at 100* and the new batter Axar Patel on zilch. However, the home team is still trailing by 85 runs.
