Virat Kohli and Srikar Bharat batted India out of trouble as the hosts lost Jadeja early in the morning of Day 4. 73 runs were scored in the session.

Jadeja, who was looking rock-solid, had enough and went for the aerial route off Todd Murphy only to find the ball in the hands of the fielder at mid-on.

With Shreyas Iyer going for scans as he complained of pain in his lower back, Bharat was given a promotion to number 6.

The wicket-keeper has been chastised because of his batting skills in the series but had not not put a wrong foot today as of now.

He slog swept Lyon for a six, facing only the second delivery of his innings. After scoring another boundary off the spinner, he started relying more on singles, stitching a 53-run stand with Kohli.

Kohli has been true in his defence and has added 29 more runs to his overnight score, sitting just 12 shy of a long-awaited Test ton.

At lunch, India are at 362/4, trailing by 121 runs.

Talking Points

Jadeja threw away his wicket with his poor shot selection. Had Bharat not come out positively, India were staring at a collapse with Iyer also not available at the moment.

Kohli's century countdown has started. He is currently unbeaten on 88 runs.

Expectations

With India sitting pretty, they are likely to further bring down Australia's lead. Moreover, Kohli's Test century drought can come to an end.

Brief Scores:

India - 362/4 (131)

Shubman Gill 128 (235), Virat Kohli 88* (220);

Todd Murphy 2-64 (32)

India trail by 121 runs.
